Looking Ahead. – the Bahamas

Today’s blog is about my excitement as I look forward to my next conservation dive trip in April 2020. I’m going to the Bahamas on a live-aboard sailing schooner, the Juliet. I just read the description of the trip …..

Diving in the Bahamas is spectacular. There is little current, warm water, an abundance of sharks, turtles, walls, wrecks and beautiful coral”

What we’ll be doing

• Lionfish—harvesting and eating them

• Dolphins—visiting them in the wild

• Sharks—collecting measurement data with a custom laser tool

• Sea Turtles—identifying and measuring

• Performing an island beach clean up

• Observing & understanding the underwater environment from our onboard marine biologist”

I can hardly wait. But I suddenly realise I have things to do in preparation like get my BCD (buoyancy jacket) serviced and also sort out my diving insurance with DAN- a blog in itself

If you’d like to read more about the trip on the Juliet then go to Merlin’s site www://divermojo.com

Meanwhile I’m off to write my next blog and dream of April.
